New Record High for RWTH Student Enrollment

8,241 new students enrolled for the 2015/16 semester. This raises the total number of students to a record high of 43,721

Compared to last year, the rate of increase has remained relatively stable with an increase of 0.6 percent or 1,400 students. 2,815 of the new students are female, thus making up 34 percent of the new students.

5,752 students enrolled for a Bachelor's course of study, of which 322 are beginning teacher training students and 345 studies in medicine and dentistry. A total of 3,065 enrollments in the first core semester were recorded for the Master's courses of study, including 113 for the Master of Education. The number of international students increased from 1,980 the previous winter semester to 2,242 for the 2015/16 winter semester.
