Career with the EU
Lecture by RWTH alumna Astrid Meesters, public relations speaker at the Berlin Information Office of the European Parliament in Germany.
From Aachen to Brussels to Luxemburg to Berlin: After her Master's degree in European Studies at RWTH Aachen in 2001, Astrid Meesters had the privilege of getting to know central places and institutions of the European Union, EU for short, during her career thus far. She is currently the speaker of public relations at the Berlin Information Office of the European Parliament in Germany.
In a lecture on Wednesday, December 16, 7pm, in the Ford Hall of the SuperC, she will share her experiences with RWTH Aachen students. Her lecture will also describe the opportunities and challenges of the career of an EU civil servant.
The lecture has been organized as part of the event series "Back to University," to make students aware of possibilities for a career in the EU. European institutions offer interested and qualified applicants from all fields of study the possibility to pursue a career in Europe. With growing responsibilities the number and diversity of demanding workplaces, particularly with the European Commission, has grown at EU institutions. Opportunities for growth and continuing education are broad, remuneration is above average, and work-life balance good. In short: a whole continent is open to you.
An event of the Federal Foreign Office and Europäische Bewegung Deutschland e.V. in collaboration with the Alumni Team, RWTH Aachen Staff Unit: Fundraising and Alumni.
