Our Profile

The increase of renewable energies in Germany poses technical challenges for the equipment and components as well as protection and control of future grids. At the Chair of High Voltage Equipment and Technology we are therefore researching with about 20 scientists for a safe, climate-friendly and reliable electrical energy system of the future. In three research groups "Insulation Systems", "Primary Technology & Diagnostics" and "DC Systems" we deal with the electrical energy system from atomic level of insulation systems, through the equipment and switchgear, up to several 100 km of DC networks. In doing so, we use the intensive exchange between our individual research groups and the entire institute to jointly develop and research innovative solutions.

Your Profile

You own a very good university degree (master's degree or comparable) with the main field in electrical engineering or a related field of study. You have at least a B1 level of command in German language and would like to improve it.
You bring fun and passion for researching latest issues in the field of electrical power engineering. You have good organizational and teamwork skills and are willing to take responsibilities of research projects.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

Your tasks include the realization and acquisition of current research projects in the field of electrical power engineering.
Depending on your interests and the research project, different methods will be applied. Such as experimental research, simulation of physical processes or modeling of whole system engineering processes. In addition, you will support university teaching by supervising courses as well as project and final theses.

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and for 1 year. An extension of 4 years is planned.
This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree in this position.
The salary corresponds to pay grade EG 13 TV-L of the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
