Our Profile

The Teaching and Research Area Mechatronics in Mobile Propulsion (MMP), under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jakob Andert, is located between the domains of mechanical and electrical drive components as well as control algorithms for embedded systems. Our scientific work is focused on component research, systemic developments as well as methodological research supporting the development processes of novel drive systems.

Your Profile

  •  Students in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or computer science
  • Interest in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems and automotive research topics
  • Interest in machine learning applications, with focus on reinforcement learning
  • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and Microsoft Office products
  • Good written and spoken English

Your Duties and Responsibilities

The main tasks will include:

  •  Powertrain model development
  • Designs, performs, and oversees of algorithm training process
  • Integration on electric control unit
  • Tests execution on HiL test bench
  • Maintains currency of knowledge to state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term uo to 3 months.
An extension is possible.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8-16 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 11,80 € per hour.
