Our Profile

The Institute of Applied Mechanics (IFAM) at RWTH Aachen University focuses on the modeling of complex materials and the efficient numerical simulation of practically relevant problems. Please use also our web pages for more detailed information:

Your Profile

- You hold a university degree (Master or equivalent) in an engineering science.

- Furthermore, you have a natural interest in scientific work.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

In the project to be worked on, which is funded by the DFG in the newly established Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR339 "Digital twin of the road system", innovative data-driven methods and artificial neural networks in the field of mechanics are to be developed and implemented in interdisciplinary collaboration with cooperation partners from RWTH Aachen University and TU Dresden. Using these methods, a wide variety of multiphysics models within the SFB can be coupled with data-based information from sensors and experiments. The long-term goal is the development of an efficient digital substitute model for the real road system which makes real-time simulations feasible.
