Our Profile

As part of the project “Innovative Retinal Interfaces for Optimized Artificial Vision” (, we are focusing on the research of innovative methods for the stimulation of the visual system to improve current techniques for vision restoration in blind humans with a retinal prosthesis system. Your Profile

  • Enrolled students in the field of electrical engineering or computer science
  • Independent and motivated
  • Interest in simulation models for retinal prosthesis systems
  • Proficient English skills
  • Knowledge and experiences in Python


Your Duties and Responsibilities

The main tasks will include:

  • Support with the simulation of the retinal prosthesis systems with an open source Python tool
  • Optimization of the simulated results with different data
  • Implementation of additional computational models

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of three months.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8-16 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 11,80 € per hour.
