Our Profile
The E.ON Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University is focusing on sustainable energy supply concepts that take into account both technical feasibility and social and economic aspects. Reducing the primary energy consumption of buildings and increasing the indoor quality are among the central research tasks of the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate. In the team Occupant Behavior and Comfort, the research focus is on the consideration of the interaction between energy system, system components and occupants as well as the provision of a healthy and comfortable indoor environment. The central objective is to reduce the energy demand while optimizing the indoor parameters that are decisive for comfort and health.
Your Profile
- Current studies in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable course of study
- Practical experience in hardware-related programming (e.g. in C, C++)
- Ideally experience with STM32 or ESP32 microcontrollers
- Ideally practical experience in PCB design
- Interested in IoT and ZigBee applications in building technology
- Good proficiency in written and spoken English
Your Duties and Responsibilities
You will support the team Occupant Behavior and Comfort in programming microcontrollers for intelligent and user-centered building technology. Furthermore, you develop and optimize board layouts for prototypes and test them in our lab facilities.
What We Offer
The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to September 30, 2024.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 9 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 12,00 € per hour.
