Already a contact point for entrepreneurs at RWTH Aachen University, RWTH Innovation now also advises international students or researchers interested in starting a business.

The International Entrepreneurship Office focuses on helping with visa matters, accommodation, language courses, health insurance, opening a bank account, finding office space, financing, intellectual property (IP) protection, mentoring, events, networking, and newcomer services. The offer targets both international and mixed start-up teams that are part of the Ideation Program or Incubation Program. Advising is provided free of charge.

The International Entrepreneurship Office is a part of RWTH's internationalization strategy and belongs to the EXIST-Potentials project. With this funding measure, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy wants to help advance start-up networks at universities. RWTH was one of twelve universities in the competition able to impress the jury, convincing them with its concept of “The International Start-up University.” Thanks to the funding of 1.7 million euros, RWTH can now pursue three goals: honing the international entrepreneurial spirit, breaking down barriers for international founders in Aachen, and establishing a global network of universities, investors, and companies.
