NRW Minister Svenja Schulze Meets RWTH Board of Governors
Svenja Schulze opens a workshop at RWTH Aachen University
On February 25, 2016, experts from schools and universities met at RWTH Aachen to discuss topics such as the academic feasibility of courses of study, offerings such as the new "semester zero" for beginning students, and how to best manage diversity. The event was opened by NRW Minister of Science and Research Svenja Schulze.
The workshop “Diversity: Managing the Transition from School to University” focused on relevant information and support programs for both pupils and students.
RWTH Aachen’s Vice-Rector for Teaching, Professor Aloys Krieg, reported on the project A Good Academic Start in Engineering, one of several activities at the Aachen Universities to ease the transition from school to university.
Furthermore, as part of her visit to Aachen, the minister also met with RWTH’s Board of Governors and University executives to discuss strategic questions, higher education policies, and future prospects of RWTH Aachen.
