RWTH Enjoys a Great Worldwide Reputation
Times Higher Education, a British magazine, placed RWTH in the top 100 of their international ranking.
Every year, the Times Higher Education ranks 100 universities considered to have the best reputation in its THE World Reputation Rankings. In the recent ranking, RWTH was placed in the 81 to 90 group – the institution’s best result since 2016. Among the 100 universities with the best reputation, only 19 others are located on continental Europe, including six German universities. As in previous years, US universities dominate the list: almost half of all the institutions in the ranking are located in the United States, and seven of the places in the top 10 are held by US universities.
The ranking is based on an international online questionnaire of scholars. Based on their own experience, the participants nominated the universities they consider the best when it comes to research and teaching. Elsevier, a publication service, selected the participants and invited them to take part in the questionnaire. In total, more than 11,000 people from 132 different countries took part.
