Alumni Get Together for "Lange Nacht der Industry" in Berlin
This year RWTH alumni once again got together for the "Lange Nacht der Industry." A dozen alumni met at the end of May to tour industry companies in various groups. Participants could selected from multiple tours, during which two companies were visited and toured.
The program included Deutsche Post, Vattenfall, the Berlin City Sanitation Works, and Coriant. RWTH alumnus Roman Katzer visited, for example, pi4 Robotics, a company with 50 employees, which produces special industry robots with so called worker bots. With two arms that can be configurated, they can be flexibly used. The robots' faces, tablets, intuitively communicate their state: either they feel good or something isn't working at the moment. pi4 also states the employees' acceptance of the worker bots in companies where they are implemented, is markedly higher than with typical industry robots.
The social get together was held the next evening at Schwarzer Café. Alumni had the opportunity to talk about their experiences during the company tours, see old acquaintances, and make new contacts, reported alumnus Tilo Beck.
Many thanks to Roman Katzer and Tilo Beck for organizing the event.
