Number of Students at RWTH Continues to Rise

The number of students enrolled at RWTH has risen again in winter semester 2020/21.

 

As of December 1, 2020, 47,173 students are enrolled at RWTH. The number of female students at RWTH totals 15.357, which represents a proportion of 33 percent of the student body.

In the current winter semester, a total of 10, 588 students enrolled in their first course semester.

Mechanical Engineering is still the University’s largest Faculty with a total of about 13,000 students; 2,807 are in their first course semester.

The number of international students at RWTH also increased, with 12,477 international students currently enrolled at RWTH. The country representing the largest group of international students is China, with 23 percent of international enrollments. This is followed by India, which accounts for 13 percent of the international student body.
