Mobility of the Future
Aachen Conference for Road and Traffic Engineering 2016
Will the 2030 Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan turn us into a leading country of mobility? Will we succeed in making an about-turn from an outdated and poor transport infrastructure to mobility of the future? Are we pursuing the right strategies and concepts? These and other questions will be discussed at the Aachen Conference for Road and Traffic Engineering. The conference will be held November 24 and 25, 2016 in the RWTH SuperC, Templergraben 57 in Aachen. It is organized by the Forschungsvereinigung Straßenwesen, Erd- und Tunnelbau Aachen e.V. and the Aachen branch of the Vereinigung der Straßenbau- und Verkehrsingenieure in Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V.. It is supported by the "Intelligent Transport Systems NRW" association.
The objective of the event is to promote collaboration between research, practice, and teaching in the entire field of road engineering. Practical experiences and problems enter directly into research and teaching and results are directly made usable for practice. Seven topic modules illustrate the entire spectrum of road engineering: advanced material characterization, accelerated load simulation, asset management, virtual tunnel environment, digital testing field, operation services, and infrastructure needs. A panel discussion on the 2030 Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan and the award ceremony for the SETAC award for outstanding Master's theses at the Chair of Road Engineering round out the event.
Participation is free of charge and can be recognized as a continuing or further education measure. Please register at: SETAC Registration. The registration deadline is November 18.
