Successfully Studying Online
On November 3, Federal Minister Svenja Schulze will open a conference on new e-learning formats at RWTH Aachen.
At the interdisciplinary conference, titled "Successfully Studying with E-Learning: Online Courses for Mathematics and Language & Text Comprehension,“ the innovative learning formats of the soon-to-be-launched NRW New Student Portal will be presented and discussed.
Conference participants will jointly develop scenarios for the use of online mathematics and language comprehension courses in teaching and advising. The New Student Portal is a component of the “Digital University NRW” initiative launched by the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Education and Research.
The conference, which will be opened with a welcome address by Minister Schulze, is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2016, between 10am and 5pm in the Aula of the RWTH Main Building. The conference workshops will address topics such as language and text comprehension as well as learning strategies and methods. Furthermore, a virtual mathematics tutorial and an online bridge courses will be presented.
The conference is hosted by the Chair of Mathematics A and the Center of Creative Writing at RWTH Aachen, the NRW Ministry of Education and Research, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
