Adolf Hitler's Illnesses

+49 241 80 93681

The number of Adolf Hilter's diagnosed illnesses – in part diagnosed posthumously – has become incalculable. The picture of a psychopath dependent on medication in the bunker of the Reich Chancellery is part of one of the most persistent myths about Hitler. It was not uncommon for the various diagnoses to be used an explanation or even as an excuse for the crimes of the NS period.

In his talk, Dr. Henrik Eberle – historian at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and editor of "Das Buch Hitler" – will discuss the different diagnoses and their importance to the history of the Hitler myth. He will also address the questions of whether the dictator was actually ill and how much this affected his actions.

The event will take place Wednesday, October 26, at 7pm in the Couvenhalle, Kármánstraße 17-19. Entrance is free of charge, registration is not required.

Please note that the lecture will be given in German.
