Memory Strategies (for international students)

Erläuterung

This seminar addresses students of RWTH Aachen University.

Please note that this student training takes place online via Zoom to make participation as easy as possible for you. Accordingly, a laptop/PC with an internet connection, loudspeakers and a microphone are required.

From school to university life - this is a challenge on many levels, but especially in relation to the amount of learning content that you suddenly have to remember. Not that easy and often highly frustrating! But don't worry, there are alternatives to "learning bulimia". In the seminar "Memory Strategies" methods of retention are explained and applied in a subject-specific manner. Their de facto success is repeatedly evaluated in the 3-week course. Participants also have the opportunity to talk to other students about their learning content and can jointly consider which strategies could be helpful - from the classic "mnemonic" to "storage" in long-term memory. Of course, the seminar is not only open to first-year students, but to any student who would like to improve their individual memory skills.

The training takes place in 3 units of 2 hours each. It is necessary that you are present at all 3 appointments. Therefore, please check in advance whether all time slots are suitable for you.

The seminar is open to all students of RWTH Aachen University. It is also offered in German.

Participation is only useful if you turn on the camera on your computer because it is hard for the other people in the seminar to trust a voice behind a black screen.
