Content

The purpose of this course is to prepare attendees for professional communication and effective presentation at international conferences. After a needs analysis, participants will :

  • learn about effective ways of opening and closing their talks

  • study how to guide their audience through their presentations

  • work on their pronunciation and delivery

  • learn how to comment on their visuals

  • develop strategies for handling difficult questions

By taking part in role plays and presenting at least three times in the course of the semester, participants will gain more confidence in speaking English in an academic context and improve their delivery in general.

On completion of the seminar, participants will have:

  • acquired useful phrases and vocabulary for conference settings

  • feel more confident when presenting at international conferences
