Description

This workshop will provide you with techniques for successful scientific presenations and help you improve your skills in holding scientific presentations. It has a highly practical approach and will give you the opportunity to hold a short presentation on your research topic.

Objective

Methods

The workshop will pick up existing problems and work on solutions. A mixture of „ex-cathedra“ teaching, jointed and group phases will be used.

Day 1 will be as the complete group covering basics and specific questions of presentation.

Day 2 will be a practical session (3 hours). In small groups you will give a short presentation and receive feedback.

Participation Requirements

This workshop is only for doctoral candidates associated with the Cluster of Excellence "ML4Q" or RTG 1995.

Technical requirements: PC/laptop, microphone, loudspeaker, Internet & camera

Target Audience

Doctoral candidates associated with the Cluster of Excellence "ML4Q", including the persons at the locations in Jülich, Bonn, Cologne as well as persons from RTG 1995.

Measures to secure the sustainable Transfer of Taught Knowledge / Skills

  • A mixture of „ex-cathedra“ teaching, jointed and group phases will be used, test presentations will be given and feed backed.

  • Specific requirements, problems and topics of the participants will be incorporated

  • The results of the workshop will be documented and circulated
