Description

In universities and research institutions, research and internal activities are being organized as projects. Professional project management supports the target-oriented execution of these projects. Successful projects require special management methods. The better the project leaders and project members master appropriate methods of management, the more easily they can achieve their project goals. The seminar provides a basic overview of methods and frameworks of efficient and goal-oriented project management in traditional, agile and hybrid environments.

Optionally you can to prepare for a scrum master certification by an additional one-day training course. Furthermore, you can choose an additional day for get deeper in your projects and reflect your projects to the methods and tools.

Objective

You will learn how to set up and manage projects successfully and will be familiar with various modern approaches to project management.
You will know important processes, methods and tools for the management of projects and for successful collaboration in projects.
You are able to select and apply modern frameworks and methods.

Theoretical and practical input, small group work, examples, working on real projects, exercices, feedback and reflection

Content

The seminar provides basic knowledge for practical application. The following content awaits you:

Modul 1: 3 days course „Fundamentals of modern Project Management“

• Set up projects successfully - traditionally and agile

• Use Project Canvas models

• Structure projects appropriately and define work packages

• Involve all stakeholders using canvas models

• Develop and agree on milestones

• Plan dates, resources and costs

• Monitor and control projects

• Get basic knowledge about main agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Design Thinking)

• Use agile methods for project work

• Organize and visualize project work (e.g. Backlogs, Daily Meetings, different Boards, Retrospectives)

Modul 2: Optional: 1 day „Preparation for Scrum Master certification“

• Additional and deeper insight and application of the scrum framework

• Special preparation for the PSM I Scrum certification
