Methods

The method entails discussion and group work by establishing an open and respectful dialogue on eye-to-eye level. We also work with short interactive, creative impulses, in order to stimulate non-linear thinking on all levels: intellectually, physically and emotionally. This will lead to better results, individual solutions and provide experiences that are transferrable to daily life.

Content

Coming to RWTH as an international professor and researcher requires to take up different tasks all at once. Being already established in your position and being confronted with new challenges and road blocks - How can good leadership create solutions in an ever-changing research environment at RWTH Aachen? In this course, we explore different aspects of this key question and gain clarity for taking action.

  • reflect on your role and leadership experience in alignment with the expectations and values of RWTH.

  • learn how to interact with different personalities and characters in your team and in cooperations

  • learn tools and necessary strategies important for effective communication

  • evelop a congruent vision of your leadership attitude and role as motivation for action

Based on this one-time course, it is possible to create a year-group that supports building a network amongst your peers and taking advantage of extended support and continuing skill development.
