RWTH Enjoys Excellent Reputation Among Employers

RWTH Aachen and its graduates have a very good reputation among employers and personnel managers. This has now been documented by two studies published independently of one another.

 

In the latest edition of the weekly journal DIE ZEIT, the results of the German University Employability Rankings have just been published. For this ranking the research institute Trendence and the personnel consulting firm Emerging asked German employers to give their opinion on which universities yield the best graduates. Next to subject-specific skills, they were also asked to grade the so-called soft skills. Altogether 186 Employers from all branches of trade took part in the study and voted on which universities particularly promote the employability of their graduates. RWTH Aachen made the German top ten in this category.

Quacquarelli Symonds, a large international information service provider who publishes one of the most reknown university rankings world-wide with its QS Ranking, also gives RWTH outstanding marks. The just published QS Graduate Employability Ranking puts the Aachen University of Excellence at 44th place world-wide, and within Europe at 15th place. Judging rested on five criteria, for instance the rate of unemployment or the academic success after graduation. However, most weight was given to the results of a survey of 37.000 employers. They rated the universities on the basis of their graduates' qualities. In this category, RWTH Aachen performed especially well with more than 90 out of 100 points.

The quality of an education at RWTH is also affirmed every year by the ranking carried out by the German business journal "Wirtschaftswoche." In this ranking, Aachen university has consistently been rated in the top three with its natural sciences and engineering programs for the last several years. Currently, the personnel managers who have been interviewed, find the RWTH engineering, computer sciences and industrial engineering graduates to be among the best in all of Germany.
