RWTH Aachen Sees off Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Graduates

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology said good bye to their recent graduates during their special celebratory event – the Day of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

 

Altogether 664 students completed their studies in Bachelor's and Master's programs in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in the past academic year. 76 doctoral candidates completed their doctorate.

The Dean of the faculty, Professor Wilfried Mokwa, opened the event and gave his annual report. This was followed by further reports presented by the Dean of Students and the president of the student body. Professor Jeremy Witzens then held a lecture on the topic of "Silicon Photonics: Controlling and Tripping Light on the Chip." Highlight of the day was the award presentation. The following prizes were bestowed on occasion of the best Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees: The STAWAG and Telefonica doctorate award, the Bosch as well as the Siemens Master's award, the Rohde-Schwarz Bachelor's award, the Mathworks Matlab Team award, and also the Pollak award. The event came to a festive conclusion with a graduate ball at Schloss Rahe.
