Innovation and Advances in Technology in Aviation
On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, a colloquium will take place at RWTH Aachen on the topic of “Innovation and Technology Leaps in Aerospace – a Look to the Past and to the Future.” It is being organized by the RWTH Institute of Aerospace Systems, the Institute of Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery, as well as the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design. The speakers are high-ranking professionals from industry, from organizations and universities.
The colloquium also serves to honor Dr.-Ing. Dietrich Knörzer, who has studied at RWTH and completed his doctorate here. From 1989 to his retirement 2016, Dietrich Knörzer worked as principal scientific officer in the Directorate General Research and Innovation of the European Commission in Brussels. He was responsible for the aeronautics and space units related to airplane design, aviation physics and fluid mechanics, and he was in charge of initiatives in collaborative aviation research among member countries.
The event will take place at lecture hall LU at the Institute of Aerospace Systems, Wüllnerstr. 7, Aachen.
