NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo

The NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo is the largest networking fair and conference in the field of international education, and yearly attracts colleagues representing various international offices from all over the world. This year, the event took place in Los Angeles, California from May 29 to June 2, 2017, and was attended by 9000 participants from 100 countries in total. Different US cities organize the event each year and this year’s gathering adopted the following motto: „Expanding Community, Strenghtening Connections.“

Due to the high rate of participation and size, the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo offered participants the incredible opportunity to learn about the newest developments in the area of internationalization in higher education, to maintain critical international partnerships, as well as build new ones. RWTH Aachen was represented by both the International Office and International Academy, whose delegates were able to lead numerous conversations pertaining to the maintenance of our existing partnerships and the prospect of winning new and attractive ones.

RWTH Aachen’s participation at the conference was organized by GATE-Germany, a mutual consortium between DAAD and HRK, and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
