A Look Into Everyday University Life
Pupils, who enjoy math, computer science, natural sciences, or technology, have the opportunity to get a look at everyday university life at RWTH Aachen free of charge at the "Schülerunis" during the summer holiday.
The future students learn about the content, research topics, work methods, and demands of the subjects offered at RWTH in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural science, and technology – STEM – in workshops, tours, and sample lectures. They can experiment, meet students and lecturers, and grapple with the decision what to study.
The Schüleruni is targeted towards school pupils in the Oberstufe. Participation is free of charge. Registration is required however, and is open till July 7, 2017. There are currently still spots for the remaining events:
- STEM Teacher Training from August 21 to 25, 2017
- Materials Engineering from August 14 to 18, 2017
- Taster Studies for Girls in Engineering from July 17 to 21, 2017
- Technnology-Communication from June 24 to 28, 2017
Expanded Offers for Girls
The successful format "Taster Studies for Girls in Engineering," formerly called "Taster Studies for Girls," is being held for the first time during the summer holiday instead of during the fall break. The event will also last a full week for the first time. It offers female pupils in the Oberstufe an initial look at the work of an engineer. The program consists of practical workshops in engineering and presentations on topics such as admission, application, and studies. Female researchers will also talk about their careers and offer information about career prospects. Participation is free of charge.
