Teaching Videos for the "Physics Lab Experiments for Medical Students"

The Physics for Medical Students teaching videos are the result of a close collaboration between Professor Heidrun Heinke from the Institute of Physics I A and the Audiovisual Media Center, AVMZ for short.

 

VISPA Internet Platform

VISPA, short for VISual Physics Analysis, is a platform to involve students in the interpretation of data from demonstration experiments.

VISPA was developed at the Institute of Physics III A under the direction of Professor Martin Erdmann.

 

Code Based Learning: Interactive Electronic Worksheets for Basic Courses in STEM Studies

As part of a tandem fellowship for innovations in digital university teaching, Prof. Stefan Roth, in collaboration with Prof. Darius Mottaghy (FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences), implemented Code Based Learning in a joint course at RWTH and FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences.

Here, virtual "notebooks" are integrated into a blended learning concept with adaptive learning paths to give students the opportunity to work on programming tasks in a lab-like manner. The goal is to overcome the great heterogeneity among first-year students regarding their prior knowledge in computer science and programming.

 

Online Bridging Course in Physics

The online bridging course in physics was developed especially for prospective students of engineering and natural sciences. Various Geogebra animations were also created in this context.

 

MyScore Project in the Physics Department

Within the MyScore project, joint courses were established in the physics department with partner universities. Here, various methods of blended learning enable students to participate in a common course across country borders.

Essential for this was the establishment of a hybrid seminar room in the physics department. This room enables transnational teaching at a high level and embodies the future of hybrid teaching at RWTH.
