Every year in October, the new Nobel Prize laureates are announced. In those cases in which a topic in the fields of Physics, Chemistry or Medicine has interesting ties to research being conducted at RWTH Aachen University, RWTHextern offers a lecture on these particular Nobel Prize topics. The events will take place during the week of the official award ceremonies.

The Nobel Prize is a set of awards that have been bestowed in several categories every year since 1901, when it was first established and funded by the Swedish inventor and businessman Alfred Nobel. The Nobel Prize is still regarded the most prestigious award available in the considered disciplines and is bestowed during the annual Prize Award Ceremony on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's death.
