Johann Gottfried Herder Program
The Johann Gottfried Herder Programm supports and facilitates the placement of retired German university professors at universities abroad. In some exceptions, managers from industry and administration may also participate.
Funded Herder lecturers help strengthen the network between their host university and universities in Germany, refreshing and modernizing the host university's teaching offers and teaching and facilitating German and academic culture abroad.
Funding is granted on a semester-basis with the possibility to extend.
During their stay abroad lecturers receive a monthly per diem and housing stipend, a travel and materials stipend, and health, accident, and private liability insurance. For more information about the program and the application requirements, please refer to the DAAD website.
You can also request more information about the individual guest lectureships via email. The application deadline is March 31, 2018.
