RWTH Among the Top in International Ranking

QS Ranking by Subject 2018 confirms the Aachen university's excellent performance.

 

RWTH has once again achieved excellent results in the internationally respected QS Ranking by Subject. Using citations as a mark of scientific performance and universities' reputations, a ranking of the best universities worldwide is published each year in five scientific disciplines and individual subjects. RWTH performed particularly well in the category Engineering & Technology, placing 31^st worldwide, and 2^nd among German universities. It placed 36^th internationally and 3^rd in Germany in the Natural Sciences category.

RWTH was also successful in the subject rankings. In 23 subjects – from architecture to industrial engineering – the University is among the strongest worldwide. It performed best in the category Mineral & Mining Engineering, achieving 20^th place, closely followed by Mechanical Engineering with 23^rd place. Additionally, it placed among the top 50 in the subjects Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, and Materials Sciences.

RWTH is in the top 3 among German universities in 14 subjects and tops the German university rankings in the following six subjects: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Materials Sciences, and Statistics & Operational Research.
