RWTH Offers Trainers Commercial and Technical Continued Education
Starting April 2018, the project ADiTPro² will offer free continuing education to individuals responsible for training apprentices.
Specialists in industry and skilled trades must face the changing demands of their work due to digital transformation. Effective and efficient production processes are crucial factors in the economic success of small and mid-sized companies.
Apprentices must also be prepared for these changes. Qualified trainers in the workplace play an essential role in this preparation. RWTH Aachen's ADiTPro² projects offers trainers free commercial and technical continued education.
ADiTPro² stands for "Ausbildende qualifizieren für die Digitale Transformation – Gestalten von industriellen Prozessen und Produkten als Gegenstandsbereich der beruflichen Bildung“ or "Qualifying Apprentices for Digital Transformation – Turning Industrial Processes and Products into a Subject Area of Vocational Training." The project is organized by the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics, Training for Technical Vocations Department and is supported and funded by the NRW Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, and the European Social Fund. Technical training and assistance is provided by the G.I.B. Gesellschaft für innovative Beschäftigungsförderung mbH and Regionalagentur Aachen.
The program was developed in collaboration with companies from industry and trade and is spread out over four workshops. Topics include "Digital Transformation and Effects on Skilled Labor," "Process Management for Specialists," "Providing Process-Oriented Training," and "Digital Media in Everyday Training." The first workshop will be held April 26 and 27, 2018, in Aachen. The remaining workshops are planned for June and October 2018 and February 2019.
