Registered participants' tickets will remain valid for the event with the Charlemagne Prize recipient on May 10, 2018.

President Emmanuel Macron has postponed his visit to RWTH to the following day. The scheduled visit in the afternoon on May 9, 2018, can no longer take place due to a necessary, last minute state council meeting the same day. The designated recipient of the Charlemagne Award will now appear on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 2:30pm at the C.A.R.L. lecture hall complex, Claßenstraße 11, after being awarded the prize.

All available tickets have already been handed out in closed processed organized together with the police. They remain valid for the postponed event on May 10, 2018. Attendees are requested to arrive no later than 2pm due to security measures. Doors open at 12:30pm.

Since 1950, the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen has been awarded to public figures who have performed in the service of European unity. Traditionally the recipients visit RWTH Aachen the day preceeding the event. They speak on European topics and offer students an opportunity to ask questions and discuss.
