Doctoral Candidates Conference at the Faculty of Medicine

By hosting its first conference for doctoral candidates, the Faculty of Medicine enhanced its efforts to inspire talented medical students into research. The conference sought to promote the exchange of information between students from different medical deparments and to initiate the development of a platform for interdisciplinary research.

In plenary sessions, the students presented and discussed their research activities with their peers and with the participating professors. Furthermore, the students hat the opportunity to showcase their research projects in a poster session.

The Best Poster Awards went to Annika Schmidt (1^st place), Christopher Hark (2^nd place), and David Hölscher (3^rd place).

The first doctoral candidates conference was organized by Junior Professor Carina Benstöm, Clinic for Surgical Intensive Medicine and Intermediate Care; PD Dr. Claudia Göttsch, Clinic for Cardiology, Pneumology, Angiology and Internal Intensive Medicine; and PD Dr. Christian Bleilevens, Anaesthesiology Clinic.
