RWTH Holds Alumni Day to Kick Off a Special Anniversary Program
Virtual offerings to mark the University's 150th anniversary start Saturday. Themed routes, lectures, discussions, and much more will be offered virtually until December.
As part of the University's anniversary activities "150 Years RWTH Aachen - Learning. Research. Machen.", Professor Ute Habel, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Professor Bernd Markert, Rector's Delegate for Alumni, will open Alumni Day, which was originally scheduled to take place last June on Campus Melaten, via live stream on October 9, 2021.
A virtual alternative lasting several weeks was developed so that we can still celebrate the anniversary with our alumni with a fitting program. This will focus on three themed routes – Production Technology, Energy & Mobility, and Medical Technology – looking at research and innovations on Campus Melaten via video. With videos, Zoom meetings, and other formats, current research activities and networking opportunities of the faculties will be offered in the form of Faculty Weeks until December 2021. RWTH's Excellence Strategy-funded profile areas will also present their activities. Additional offerings from other areas, such as international affairs, career development, and entrepreneurship as live sessions or on-demand events round off this special program.
Alumni and alumni groups in Germany and abroad will also participate in the program and will report on their different projects. This will also give insights into the world of the University's partner companies.
Further information and the complete program are available at the Alumni Day website.
