RWTH Aachen is partnering with 14 schools from North Rhine-Westphalia to offer interested school students a practical look at the STEM teaching profession. The adolescents from the 10th or 11th grades temporarily assume the role of a STEM teacher at their school or nearby. They will also participate in one and multiday workshops at RWTH, in which they will learn how to plan and implement lesson plans for the sciences and apply theory in practical exercises. Additionally, they will learn about teacher training in the STEM subjects.

The kickoff event for the MILeNa program is Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 12:30pm in room HKW 1, second floor, HKW lecture building "Toaster“ at RWTH Aachen, Wüllnerstraße 1 (behind the SuperC). 70 school students from North Rhine-Westphalia are participating in the event.

MILeNa is funded through joint efforts of the federal and state governments to actively promote high-quality teacher training by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The program is also supported by the network "Zukunft durch Innovation.NRW" (zdi) or "Future Through Innovation.NRW."
