2018 DAAD Award
RWTH student receives award from German Academic Exchange Service.
Sergio Roberto Molina Ramirez from Colombia already successfully completed studies in electrical engineering at RWTH this past 2018 summer semester. Additionally, he has studied biology since winter semester 2015/16. Despite the double courseload, he has mantained excellent academic performance and is a committed volunteer.
As part of the electrical engineering student council, Ramirez mentors and advises international students. He also offers his fellow students free tutorting in physical chemistry. In 2017, he participated in the IGEM competition on "Synthetic Biology" and was awarded the gold medal. Ramirez is also active in the BeBuddy program, the KEIO spring school, and the summer schools offered by RWTH International Academy. His German skills are excellent.
Sergio Roberto Molina Ramirez was awarded with the 2018 DAAD Award for International Students, endowed with 1,000 euros, for his academic achievements and intercultural engagement during the Welcome Week for international students. The RWTH Aachen International Office holds the Welcome Week annually to provide international students with a good start to their studies. RWTH Rector Ulrich Rüdiger presented him with the award certificate.
