RWTH Students Conceptualized the Exhibition "We, The Six Million"

From November 9 to 11, 2018 the exhibit "We, The Six Million," which has been conceptualized by students at RWTH Aachen, will be on display at the coronation hall of Aachen City Hall.

 

It is meant to bring to mind the marginalization, stigmatization, forced displacement, and murder of six million Jews over the course of the Second World War. The exhibition is directed particularly at young people and is free of charge.

The opening reception will be on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 3pm. As part of the event, Lord Mayor Marcel Philipp will be given a book authored by RWTH students about the lives of victims of the Shoah from Aachen and the surrounding regions as well as pedagogical materials for teachers and students that have been designed as accompaniment to the exhibition.

As part of the exhibition there will also be a panel discussion on Saturday, November 10, at 3pm, in the coronation hall, that will examine the topic "Antisemitism among adolescents – a problem at school?" The RWTH students will also take part in the commemoration of Progrom Night, which happened 80 years ago this year.

After November 12, 2018, the exhibit will be shown as a traveling exhibit in schools in the western Rhineland region, the first station being the Mädchengymnasium St. Ursula in Aachen.
