TABULA Makes Learning Accessible

16/11/2018

This RWTH project is the last stop of the "Learning made tangible" information tour organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF.

Be prepared for close contact at 3:30pm on November 19, 2018, at the "Depot" at Talstraße, Aachen. That's where the RWTH Aachen Chair for Media Informatics and Human-Computer Interaction, the Learning Technologies Research Group, and the Chair for Communication Science, will present to their audience the "TABULA" research project as part of the "Learning made tangible" BMBF information tour.

This project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and research, is concerned with utilizing physically tangible objects, so-called tangibles, on multi-touch tables in order to make computer science concepts more accessible through interactive learning methods. The project features a new generation of multi-touch tables that combine an LCD flat screen with the touch-sensitive technology used in smartphones.

The goal of the information tour is to allow individuals to comprehend how learning in the future might happen. "TABULA" was chosen as one of four projects to highlight and Aachen represents the last stop of the event series after having traveled to Munich, Bremen and Leipzig.

Besides new project demonstrations, the BMBF information tour will also offer fascinating lectures and panel discussions, featuring, among others, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar. True to the motto "Bringing technology to the people," everybody who is excited to find out how learning is bound to take place in the future is very welcome to attend.
