WDR Bigband Concert With Jazz Soloists Jakob Manz and Simon Oslender

RWTHextern will host the “Young Cats” event on April 30, 2022.

 

WDR Bigband and the soloists Jakob Manz and Simon Oslender will give a concert entitled "Young Cats" on Saturday, April 30, 2022. This event is being organized by RWTHextern in cooperation with RWTH Bigband and it will begin at 8pm in Aula 1 in the RWTH main building, Templergraben 55, in Aachen.

Jakob Manz, born in 2001, and Simon Oslender, born in 1998, are among the shooting stars of the German jazz scene. Oslender was born in Aachen and is a pianist, a Hammond B3 organist and a keyboard player. Manz comes from Swabia and plays alto saxophone. Both released their debut album in 2020. Listeners can expect jazz music in the style of soul jazz at RWTH, including new compositions by Bob Mintzer, principal conductor of the WDR Bigband, and Simon Oslender. The arrangements were done by Jörg Achim Keller and Bob Mintzer.

Tickets are available in advance at Klenkes Ticketshop, at the AStA of RWTH and at Frankenne; they cost 15 euros and 7 euros for concessions. At the box office, tickets can be purchased for 18 euros and 10 euros respectively. The daily coronavirus protection measures apply, which are available to view on the RWTHextern website.
