RWTH Disciplines Rated Highly in CHE Ranking
Humanities and engineering subjects were analyzed this time around.
The results of the latest CHE University Ranking are indicative of the high quality of RWTH's degree programs. The ZEIT Study Guide published the most comprehensive ranking for German-speaking countries on May 3. In total, around 120,000 students participated in a survey intended to compare more than 300 universities based on numerous different criteria. CHE ultimately divided the institutions into top, middle, and bottom groups for each subject.
This year, the ranking focused on humanities and engineering disciplines. The humanities subjects assessed for RWTH were teacher training, German studies, and psychology, while the engineering disciplines were architecture, materials science, electrical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, and mechanical engineering. RWTH was ranked in the top group a total of 35 times.
The support provided to students at the beginning of their studies was rated particularly well across almost all subjects. In addition, the proportion of doctorates per professor as well as the third-party funds were also considered particularly positive features of the University. Students rated RWTH highly in their overall assessment of the study situation – the most crucial result of the survey.
