The Collegium Musicum of RWTH Aachen is celebrating its anniversary: It was founded 70 years ago as an orchestra with 30 members. Today, around 200 students and employees make music and sing in the University choir and University orchestra. To mark the anniversary, there will be a celebration on Thursday, May 12, 2022, starting at 7 p.m. in Aula 1 in the main building, Templergraben 55 in Aachen.

Active members and alumni will experience a colorful program: In addition to a welcome by Professor Thomas Gries, Academic Director of the Collegium Musicum, contributions by the choir, orchestra and carbon quintet under the musical direction of Tobias Haussig are planned. Voice teachers will also report on their work, and alumni will reminisce about concerts, rehearsal weekends and leisure activities. The celebration will be hosted by Martin Habermehl, who was active in the Collegium Musicum for many years.
