Panel Discussion: Intergenerational Conflicts in an Aging Society

30/05/2022

On June 25, 2022, RWTH and partners will host a panel discussion entitled “New Intergenerational Conflicts – How Is the Aging of Society Affecting Future-Oriented Politics”?

Society is getting older and older. New intergenerational conflicts are emerging and draw attention to the special situation of older people. How can social and economic burdens be redistributed in an aging society and intergenerational justice be achieved? Who will provide for the pensions of the elderly? How is voting behavior changing in an aging society? Are we facing a situation where aging, angry citizens – the so-called Wutbürger – are becoming a dominant political force?

The RWTH Institute of Political Science, RWTHextern, the AStA Students’ Committee, Evangelische Stadtakademie Aachen (ESA), Bürgerstiftung Lebensraum Aachen, Evangelische Erwachsenenbildungswerk Aachen, and the Protestant Student Community Aachen (ESG) have joined forces to host a panel discussion entitled New Intergenerational Conflicts – How Is the Aging of Society Affecting Future-Oriented Politics?
