RWTH continues to be certified as a family-friendly university. RWTH has received confirmation of its “audit familiengerechte hochschule” (Family-Friendly University Audit) certification from the berufundfamilie Service GmbH board of trustees. This is the fifth time the University has been awarded the certificate with distinction in special recognition of its many years of sustained efforts to create family-friendly work and study conditions. The certificate is regarded as a quality seal for a strategically designed policy for balancing work and family life.

Prior to this, RWTH successfully completed the so-called dialog procedure for the audit, which is open to employers who have been pursuing a strategically designed family- and life-plan-conscious HR policy for at least nine years with the audit. RWTH was first awarded the certificate in 2009. After two re-audits, the second dialog procedure followed. In order to ensure the quality of the certificate, a further dialog procedure will have to be completed in three years' time.
