47,078 Students Currently Enrolled at RWTH

Number of RWTH students remains high.

 

In the 2022/23 winter semester, a total of 47,078 students are enrolled at RWTH Aachen University. The number of female students totals 15,823, representing 34 percent of the student body.

International interest in studying at RWTH also continued to increase, with 14,150 international students enrolled. The largest group of international students is from China (3,400), followed by India (1,752), then Turkey (1,155).

This winter semester, a total of 9,538 students enrolled in their first course semester. The Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences saw the largest increase in first-year students compared to the previous year, with 247 more students enrolled than in the 2021/22 winter semester. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is the largest faculty at RWTH with 11,843 students; 1,906 of which are in their first semester.
