The talk is part of RWTHextern’s At the Focus series.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Versailles this year, historian Klaus Schwabe will give the talk Versailles: Venturing Into Peace 1919-1923 for the Citizens' Forum RWTHextern. The event will be held in German on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 6:30pm, at Ford Hall, Super C, Templergraben 57 in Aachen. The event is free and it is not necessary to register for it.

The Treaty of Versailles still impacts us to this day. Professor Emeritus Schwabe examines the negotiators and their negotiations, as well as the global dimensions of the Treaty. The historian emphasizes its contributions, and comes to the conclusion that the Treaty was not necessarily doomed from the start.
